Email from bt about my fair usage policy?

hi everybody wats up, recently i told you that i had been charged 79 pounds because i had went over my 50 gig limit but recently bt sent me an email and this is what they said

Fair Usage Policy

Earlier this month we wrote to you saying you had exceeded your usage allowance over the last 2 months and that we would charge you. However, in a small number of cases we did not previously warn customers about this. As this is not in line with our Fair Usage Policy we are waiving charges for any customer who overused their allowance in July.

so what i want to know is have bt left me off with going over my limit or not.

Email from bt about my fair usage policy?
you've buggered that then, and got away with it
Reply:If you went over useage in July then yes they are letting you off
Reply:looks like you have got away with it, haven't you.
Reply:Yes, it looks like they won't charge you - if you went over your usage in July then they are waiving their charges - not sure about the other month though I am assuming that was for June? have they already charged you and taken the payment?
Reply:I got a similar e-mail they told me they would adjust my package to the higher rate if it happened again. They didn't tell me I was going to be charged for it.

My son who is 18 decided to download some Internet TV programmes. I am still thinking of a suitable punishment since he feels me threatening to chop his bits off is a bit much. lol

I am thinking of going with another e-mail provider, just not sure which one yet.
Reply:what
Reply:I would phone them and ask them! It's a bit worrying because I am with BT Broadband too and there's no way of checking how much you have used or how much usage you have left!
Reply:It sounds like they are letting you off because they didn't warn you that you had gone over our limit. They are suppose to email you to tell you when ou are going over your limit and because they didn't they are letting the people they didn't warn off.
Reply:Youre safe if you overused it in july
Reply:Yep, your off the hook.

The policy states they have to inform you in enough time to fix it.

If they don't, it "unfair"

Have a beer, you got lucky
Reply:Sounds like they let you off KEWL.
Reply:Ok, what I'm translating here is that bt is saying they didn't warn anyone what would happen if they over used, or they didn't warn anyone immediately that they over used.

Which means, they won't be charging you. They are saying it's there fault, not yours.

At least that's my understanding.
Reply:well, yeah, you're off the hook,as long as your overusage was in July
